When you hear acoustic, folk rock artist Conrad Bigknife, you will understand why he is known for his expressive, soulful voice. Conrad was born in Balcarres, SK, raised on a reserve just outside of town and began his music career at the age of 8. He regularly performed for a pleased, listening crowd consisting mostly of barnyard animals.
A giant leap forward to today finds Conrad writing and recording his third CD. Some of the songs are upbeat, about being happy and having fun. Some are more serious, showing the different layers to life and living. When it’s time to play a show, you’ll find the same guy. A guy who loves every minute of being a musician.
While attending music college, Conrad formed a trio and began doing small clubs around the local area. A move to Vancouver, B.C. added to the foundation for a career in music. His first regular gig was Granville St, busking on the sidewalk. Next stop; living in Nashville, TN. Writing and learning anything and everything he could. After returning to Canada live performances and road work honed Conrad’s musicianship and stage skills. Co-writing with his wife Shannon, he has released 2 CDs that are a combination of styles that influence them both. These CDs have found their own successes – “Hurry Up and Wait” had good airplay and lots of positive attention. The second one,
“This World” is available at Chapters nationwide.
A percentage of the money generated from this next CD will go to various children’s charities in areas Conrad will be scheduling CD release parties, so do come out to the shows.
